It Is a Misplaced Priority – Samini Criticized The Construction of National Cathedral
Samini is the latest celebrity to criticize the construction of the national cathedral. In an interview on TV3 Ghana’s The Day Show, the Reggae and Dancehall singer criticized the government on the construction of the supposed National Cathedral he said “…it is a misplaced priority”.
Several Ghanaians opposed the NPP government’s intention to build the cathedral. The government stood steadfast despite some of the populace’s protests.
The well-known Ghanaian reggae/dancehall musician spoke out against it during his appearance on The Day Show.

He claimed that the National Cathedral’s construction was not a top priority. When asked if he felt let down by the party he backed, the accomplished musician made this comment.
“I am someone who does not support the construction of a national cathedral. That is simply an improper priority, Samini said.
He also urged the administration to give healthcare, education, job creation, and poverty alleviation first priority.
Why The Construction of a National Cathedral?
The National Cathedral is a historic project that provides a sacred space and infrastructure for the formal religious activities of the nation, like state funerals and presidential inaugural services. It is this national character that distinguishes it from the other Cathedrals in the country.
