Ghana Should Support DhopeNation on Their Ghanapiano Agenda – Quamina MP

Dhopenation Ghanapiano: Quamina MP, a rapper from Ghana, has urged people to support the DhopeNation music group’s Ghanapiano initiative.

Dhopenation, a Ghanaian musical duo made up of identical twin brothers Michael and Tony Boafo, has introduced the “GhanaPiano” music genre into the local music scene.

According to the musical pair, Ghanapiano combines piano with both classic and contemporary elements to produce a distinctive sound for the younger generation.

Simply having Ghanaian sounds set on the piano is what gave rise to the term “Ghana-Piano” for this instrument. We have plans to establish a new musical genre in addition to distributing an external play tape.

“We name it Ghanapiano since it is a song from Ghana that has been arranged for piano. Afrobeat was originally introduced to the world by Africa, but lately, the piano has captured people’s attention, they continued.

 

A group of Ghanaian music specialists who believe the new sound is not original and cannot be adopted by the Ghanaian music industry as Ghana’s own have criticized it.

Some Ghanaian musicians have accepted the new sound and are prepared to support the agenda, despite the numerous criticisms by some music experts.

Rapper Quamina MP revealed publicly on HitzFm’s DaybreakHitz entertainment program, which is hosted by Andy Dosty, that he supports Ghanapiano.

He told Andy Dosty, “…if I am writing songs with a ‘Ghanapiano’ element, I will absolutely classify my tracks under that genre.

DhopeNation is his friend, and Quamina MP reiterated that he is willing to help them realize their goals.

 

DhopeNation has released a tape under the heading “Ghanapiano” as part of its efforts to establish and popularize the “Ghanapiano” music genre.

The EP, which was released on Friday, August 18th, 2023, is already Ghana and other African nations’ preferred tape. In a viral video, the Ghetto Kids, a well-known Ugandan dance group, can be seen dancing to the majority of the songs on the External Play cassette.
