Nigerians Can’t Boast of Anything – Abiana: Ghanaian songstress Abiana on live tv has made a strong comment about the Nigerian music industry.

Sitting with Berla Mundi on TV3 Ghana’s ‘The Day Show’, Abiana divulged that Nigerians can’t boast of anything so far music is concerned.

She said they only takes Ghana stuff and makes it theirs without giving reference. She cited that “Some time ago, we used to say highlife was something. We were thinking about the Tictacs in Nigeria with Tony Tetula,”.

The former backing vocalist promulgated that Ghana’s culture has a great influence on Nigeria’s music. She revealed that the Nigerians only rebrands whatever Ghanaians will create and own it with hightened success.

She bemoaned the fact that Ghana, although being the place where these musical ideas first appeared, occasionally falls short in terms of popularity and financial success.

“Even the Nigerians are still taking our stuff and making it much more big and naming it something else,” she disclosed.

Abiana demanded a team effort to spread awareness of Ghanaian highlife around the world as the discussion on “The Day Show” developed.

She registered “Why then don’t we push ourselves and say highlife is our thing so let’s just call ourselves highlife musicians then the rest will follow,” she emphasized.

Abiana is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter. She is a Soul-life, Hi-life, Neo Soul musician. She was adjudged the Best Female Vocal Performance award at the 2021 vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

She has to her credit top records including, Dun lei, Amen, Me and You, and among others.
