In addition to violating her rights, she claimed that the unauthorized transmission of her films had a negative impact on the livelihoods of the several persons who worked on the production.
The actress expressed her seriousness about taking legal action against those responsible for the unauthorized broadcast of her movies and television shows in a recent video that was posted on her social media sites and watched by Graphic Showbiz.
“I love the nation as a whole, but I am quite disappointed that a big Ghanaian TV station would come onto my platform, dissect my stuff, and broadcast it on TV as though they were authorized to do so.
Please don’t make me start dragging you through the muck. I’m expecting a lot from you since I know how expensive content creation is and you would rather steal it off and broadcast it on national television than buy it, she said.
Ruth Kadiri’s supporters and Nollywood colleagues have largely endorsed her position and praised her for speaking out against piracy and the unauthorized exploitation of other people’s creative works.
