WATCH: Yaw Sarpong Staged a Performance After Recovering from Stroke

Legendary Ghanaian gospel musician Yaw Sarpong is now recovering from a stroke, and a recent video of him singing in a church has surfaced online.

A video broadcast by Kofi Adoma Nwanwani’s “Kofi TV” shows the famed musician performing one of his major singles “way3 awie” with his co-performer and wife, Tiwa, at the New Jerusalem Temple, a church run by Dr. JY Adu.

While watching the footage, one can notice that Yaw Sarpong’s face is more asymmetrical, indicating that he is yet to entirely recover from the stroke attack.

In the video, Dr. JY Adu describes how he pushed Yaw Sarpong’s family to bring him to his church for treatment after he was brought to the hospital.

“Many are saying Yaw Sarpong is dead. I have received call from overseas where people inquires of him from me. Yaw Sarpong is not dead. Though he was sick, he has risen” – Dr. JY Adu said to the congregation.

He continue to say that

“Yaw Sarpong was brought to me somewhere 2012 when he encounted serious illness. By the grace of God he was healed and went back to his daily routines. He used to come here and sing and goes his way. It was later that he had a car accident but the doctor didn’t find any fracture in his body. Just recently, he started having health complications in the head and lost his memory. He was admitted in the hospital in Accra and I asked the family to bring him to me”.

Diana Asamoah in 2016 during her show on Angel Fm disclosed that Yaw Sarpong is battling mild stroke.

Diana’s revelations was after a video of Maame Tiwa has gone viral on social media, weeping and pleading God to heal Yaw Sarpong.

Mr. Yaw Sarpong on HitzFm in 2016 also revealed how a man of God healed him after doctors have detected fractures in his spinal chord and feared he may not walk and talk again after surgery.

“After battling the sickness for sometime, It got to a time I couldn’t stand on my feet so I was taken to Okomfo Anokye Hospital. They did a CT and X-ray scan but told me they couldn’t detect anything wrong with me so I needed an MRI. Afterwards, they transfered me to 37 Military Hospital in Accra. After the MRI, they said something has been detected in my spinal cord and I need to go under the knife”.

“They also said they will need to cut my throat and remove my vocal folds, and after the surgery, I wouldn’t be able to walk or talk again. The doctors said that was the best solution for me. But Dr. JY Adu helped me very much. A few people recommended him for me and I never regreted going to him”. Yaw Sarpong narrated.

In the current video below, Dr. JY Adu revealed that Yaw Sarpong had experienced stroke again and a lot of prophecies from other men of God suggested his death but he is getting better and stronger by day.

Yaw Sarpong then performed ‘way3 Awie’ with Maame Tiwa to send signal of his current state.
